Donald Brough

Founder and Branch Manager

As the founder and Branch Manager of Preferred Capital Management (PCM), Don crafts unique planning and investment strategies that are rooted in the insight, knowledge and good judgement that his thirty-five plus years of advisory experience brings to the planning process. In addition, Don is responsible for the management of the firm’s Private Investment Managed accounts. Don enjoys helping the firm’s clients live their best financial lives by working with them to avoid mistakes and make smart financial decisions which enables them to simplify their lives.

Based on Don’s personal family experience he realized early in his career the importance of time in everyone’s life, and that one of the great benefits of having a sound plan is the ability to have the freedom to pursue those moments in life that require the “gift” of time. He believes that “there is no greater reward in what we do than to help guide our firm’s clients in a way that fundamentally improves the direction of their lives.” He feels this is the crucial difference between an investment firm and a wealth management firm like PCM. This intrinsic perspective can best be summarized in the firm’s purpose statement: "To create in our clients a sense of financial well-being that allows them the time to pursue a fuller and more meaningful life."

Don has lived in central Ohio all his life and is a graduate of Otterbein University and Worthington High School. He and his wife Karen live in Powell and are long time members of All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worthington. They have two grown daughters – Ariel who is a litigation attorney in Columbus and Olivia who joined PCM in May of 2015 as a Registered Client Services Associate. Please feel free to contact Don about creating a financial planning strategy for you.
